A quick, fresh, and healthy dessert or snack, the 5-Minute Raw Banana Splits combine ripe bananas with creamy nut butter, coconut yogurt, crunchy rawnola, fresh berries, hemp seeds, and coconut flakes for a nutritious and satisfying treat that requires no cooking.

Ingredients

Banana Splits

  • 4 medium ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup nut butter (divided; we used peanut butter, but for raw try raw cashew or almond butter)
  • 1/4 cup coconut yogurt (divided; or store-bought, such as Coyo brand)
  • 1/4 cup rawnola (divided)
  • 1/2 cup berries of choice (divided)
  • 4 tsp hemp seeds (divided)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes (divided)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Bananas: Peel each of the 4 medium ripe bananas and use a knife to carefully slice a slit down the center of each banana, creating an opening without cutting all the way through so the bananas stay intact.
  2. Assemble the Split: Open the slit slightly and spread nut butter of choice inside it, followed by a spoonful of coconut yogurt. Then sprinkle some rawnola, add berries, hemp seeds, and finish with coconut flakes over the top for texture and flavor.
  3. Serve Fresh or Store: These banana splits are best enjoyed immediately for optimal freshness and texture. If needed, you can cover and refrigerate leftovers for up to 24 hours or slice and freeze the banana splits for up to 1 month to use later in smoothies.

Notes

  • Use raw nut butters like cashew or almond for a completely raw treat.
  • Substitute coconut yogurt with any plant-based yogurt to keep it dairy-free.
  • Rawnola adds a nice crunch, but granola can be used alternatively.
  • Berries can be any variety such as strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries.
  • Store leftovers in airtight containers to maintain freshness.
