Crispy and flavorful air fryer sweet potato cubes tossed in olive oil and a blend of aromatic spices, perfect as a quick and healthy side dish or snack.

Ingredients

Sweet Potato Cubes

  • 1 pound sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into ½” cubes (about 2 medium sweet potatoes)

Seasoning

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it reaches the optimal temperature for cooking the sweet potato cubes evenly and crisply.
  2. Prepare Sweet Potatoes: In a large bowl, add the peeled and cubed sweet potatoes. Drizzle them with olive oil, then sprinkle the ground cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper over the cubes. Toss well to coat all pieces evenly with the oil and spices.
  3. Air Fry the Sweet Potatoes: Place the seasoned sweet potato cubes in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. You may need to cook in batches to avoid overcrowding which helps achieve maximum crispness. Cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket 1-2 times during cooking to promote even browning on all sides. Once crisp and tender, remove the cubes and serve.

Notes

  • For extra crispness, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket and cook in batches if necessary.
  • You can adjust the spices to taste; adding chili powder or cayenne will give the cubes a spicy kick.
  • These sweet potato cubes are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain their crisp texture.
