This Apple Crumble Yogurt Bark is a delightful frozen treat combining creamy whole-milk yogurt sweetened with pure maple syrup and spiced with apple pie spice and vanilla. It features swirls of unsweetened applesauce and a crunchy cinnamon-oat granola topping, making it a perfect cool snack or dessert that's easy to prepare and enjoyable for the whole family.

Ingredients

Yogurt Mixture

  • 2 cups whole-milk plain yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1¾ teaspoons apple pie spice
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ¾ cup cinnamon-oat granola

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make transferring the frozen bark easier.
  2. Mix Yogurt Base: In a medium bowl, combine 2 cups whole-milk plain yogurt, 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup, 1¾ teaspoons apple pie spice, and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is well blended and evenly combined.
  3. Spread Yogurt Mixture: Spread the yogurt mixture evenly into a 12-by-8½-inch rectangle on the prepared baking sheet, creating a flat surface for the bark.
  4. Add Applesauce Swirl: Dollop ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce over the yogurt mixture. Using a butter knife or small spatula, gently swirl the applesauce into the yogurt in a zig-zag motion to create a marbled effect.
  5. Sprinkle Granola: Evenly sprinkle ¾ cup cinnamon-oat granola over the surface of the yogurt and applesauce mixture for added crunch and flavor.
  6. Freeze: Cover the baking sheet tightly with plastic wrap, ensuring the wrap does not touch the yogurt mixture to prevent sticking. Freeze the bark until completely set, at least 3 hours or up to 24 hours for best texture.
  7. Cut and Serve: Use the parchment paper as handles to lift the frozen bark from the baking sheet and transfer it to a cutting board. Cut into 20 pieces with a sharp knife. Serve immediately or layer pieces between parchment paper in a zip-top freezer bag and freeze for up to 1 month.

Notes

  • Use whole-milk yogurt for a creamy texture, but you can substitute with low-fat yogurt if preferred.
  • Make sure not to let the plastic wrap touch the yogurt mixture to avoid sticking.
  • You can customize the granola topping with nuts or dried fruit for variety.
  • Allow the yogurt bark to set completely to ensure firm pieces that hold together well.
  • Perfect as a refreshing snack or a healthy dessert option.
