The Blue Hawaii Mocktail is a vibrant and tropical non-alcoholic drink featuring a blend of blue curaçao syrup, lime juice, pineapple juice, coconut water, and creamy coconut milk. It's shaken with ice for a refreshing, colorful beverage ideal for a sunny day or any festive occasion.

Ingredients

Mocktail Ingredients

  • 1/2 ounce blue curaçao syrup (see notes for a better-for-you option)
  • 1 ounce lime juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
  • 2 ounces pineapple juice
  • 2 ounces coconut water (no sugar added)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut milk or cream of coconut (see notes)
  • 1 ounce non-alcoholic rum (optional)
  • Extra fruit and/or edible flowers for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Measure out all the liquid ingredients carefully using a jigger or measuring spoons to ensure balanced flavors for your mocktail.
  2. Add to Shaker: Pour blue curaçao syrup, lime juice, pineapple juice, coconut water, coconut milk or cream of coconut, and non-alcoholic rum (if using) into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add Ice: Add 3-4 cubes of fresh ice into the shaker to chill the drink effectively.
  4. Shake: Close the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until all ingredients are well combined and chilled.
  5. Strain and Serve: Strain the mixture over fresh ice in a glass to keep the drink cold without diluting it prematurely.
  6. Garnish: Decorate with extra fruit slices such as pineapple or lime wedges and edible flowers for an attractive presentation.
  7. Serve Immediately: Enjoy your Blue Hawaii Mocktail fresh to relish its vibrant flavors and refreshing tropical taste.

Notes

  • Better-for-you Blue Curaçao: Use blue curaçao syrup made with natural ingredients or create your own natural blue coloring using butterfly pea flower tea to reduce added sugars.
  • Coconut Milk vs. Cream of Coconut: Cream of coconut is sweeter and thicker; use coconut milk for a lighter texture and less sweetness.
  • Lime Juice: Freshly squeezed lime juice is preferable to bottled for optimal brightness and flavor.
  • Non-alcoholic rum: Optional ingredient to add the flavor profile of rum without alcohol; omit if strictly alcohol-free is desired.
  • Garnish Ideas: Pineapple chunks, lime wheels, maraschino cherries, or edible flowers like pansies or orchids work beautifully.
