Delight in these charming Chocolate Easter Nests, a no-bake treat combining crunchy whole bran with rich melted chocolate and creamy coconut milk. Garnished with decorative chocolate eggs, they are perfect for festive gatherings or as a sweet snack during Easter celebrations.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 250 g whole bran tubular form
  • 200 g dark, milk, or white chocolate
  • 100 g coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Salt, a pinch
  • 1 tsp coconut shreds (optional)

Toppings

  • 36 decorative chocolate eggs

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate: Place the chocolate and coconut milk in a heatproof bowl over a pot of gently boiling water (bain-marie). Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Combine with bran: Remove the melted chocolate mixture from heat, then add the whole bran and sugar. Mix thoroughly to ensure the bran is well coated with the chocolate.
  3. Form the nests: On a sheet of parchment paper, shape the mixture into small round nests. If using, sprinkle shredded coconut pieces on top for added texture and flavor.
  4. Cool and set: Place the nests in a cool environment to rest for about 2 hours or until they are fully set and firm to the touch.
  5. Add decorations: Once set, carefully place the decorative chocolate eggs onto the center of each nest to complete the festive look.

Notes

  • Using a bain-marie ensures the chocolate melts gently without burning.
  • Adjust the type of chocolate to your preference: dark, milk, or white will all work well.
  • Allow the nests to fully set in a cool place; refrigeration can speed this up if desired.
  • Optional shredded coconut adds a nice texture contrast but can be omitted if preferred.
  • These nests are best enjoyed within 2-3 days and should be stored in a cool, dry place.
