This Easter Dirt Cake is a festive and creamy dessert perfect for spring celebrations. Layers of crushed Oreos, a rich cream cheese and butter mixture, whipped topping, and instant white chocolate pudding come together to create a deliciously smooth and crumbly treat. Topped with colorful Easter candy like PEEPS bunnies and candy eggs, it's a fun and crowd-pleasing no-bake dessert that's easy to prepare and great for sharing.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 (13.29-ounce) package Oreos, crushed

Filling

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 (16-ounce) container Cool Whip
  • 2 (3.4-ounce) boxes instant white chocolate pudding mix (or instant vanilla pudding mix)
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • Easter candy such as PEEPS bunnies, edible grass, and candy Easter eggs

Instructions

  1. Prepare Crust: Crush ⅔ of the Oreo package into fine crumbs and press evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan to form the base layer. Set aside.
  2. Make Cream Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar and mix well. Gently fold in the Cool Whip to combine evenly without deflating the whipped topping. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Mix Pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant pudding powder, milk, and vanilla extract until fully combined and slightly thickened. Allow it to set for a few minutes.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Fold the prepared pudding mixture into the cream cheese and whipped topping mixture until smooth and fully blended.
  5. Assemble Layers: Pour the combined creamy mixture evenly over the Oreo crumb crust in the pan. Sprinkle the reserved crushed Oreos over the top layer to create a dirt-like effect.
  6. Chill: Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2 hours to allow it to set and flavors to meld fully.
  7. Add Decorative Toppings: Just before serving, decorate the top of the cake with festive Easter candies such as PEEPS bunnies, edible grass, and candy Easter eggs to complete the look.

Notes

  • Use instant pudding mix for quick preparation without cooking.
  • Crush Oreos finely for a better texture in the crust and topping.
  • Keep the dessert refrigerated until serving to maintain firmness.
  • For best flavor, let the dessert sit overnight.
  • You can substitute vanilla pudding if white chocolate flavor is unavailable.
  • Make sure cream cheese and butter are at room temperature for easier mixing.
