Ingredients

Sliders

  • 1 loaf of 12-count slider buns (such as brioche buns or Hawaiian rolls)
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup freshly grated white sharp cheddar cheese
  • Sprinkle of sesame seeds
  • Olive oil or butter, for brushing

House Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon your favorite BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the assembled sliders.
  2. Prepare the slider buns: Carefully slice the loaf of slider rolls in half horizontally, keeping the halves attached as much as possible. Place the bottom half of the rolls on a baking sheet.
  3. Cook the ground beef: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart into small crumbles. Once browned, stir in the ketchup and yellow mustard until fully combined with the beef.
  4. Assemble the sliders: Place the sliced sharp cheddar cheese evenly over the bottom half of the slider buns. Spoon the cooked ground beef mixture evenly over the cheese. Drizzle the prepared house sauce on top of the beef, then sprinkle with the freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese.
  5. Top and season: Place the top half of the slider buns on the assembled layers. Lightly brush the tops with olive oil or melted butter, then sprinkle with sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.
  6. Bake the sliders: Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and serve immediately with additional burger condiments or house sauce if desired.
  7. Make the house sauce: In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, honey, and BBQ sauce until smooth and well combined. For best flavor, prepare the sauce a day in advance and refrigerate.

Notes

  • You can substitute slider buns with small brioche or Hawaiian rolls depending on your preference.
  • Ground beef can be replaced with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • The house sauce stores well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For an extra crispy top, broil the sliders for the last 1-2 minutes of baking but watch closely to avoid burning.
  • Adding pickles, onions, or lettuce when serving can add fresh crunch and flavor.
