This easy homemade frozen yogurt recipe delivers a creamy, refreshing dessert made with simple ingredients like frozen fruit, Greek yogurt, and honey. It’s a healthy, customizable treat perfect for warm days or any time you crave something cool and sweet. Ready in just a few minutes of prep plus freezing time, this frozen yogurt combines the natural sweetness of fruit with a creamy texture, making it a delightful alternative to traditional ice cream.

Ingredients

Frozen Fruit

  • 4 cups sliced frozen strawberries (or other frozen fruit of your choice)
  • 2 cups sliced frozen banana

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk Greek yogurt
  • 2 tsp orange extract (or vanilla extract)
  • 4 to 6 tbsp honey (adjust to taste)

Optional Sweeteners

  • 1/4 cup sugar (optional but highly recommended)
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Place the frozen strawberries, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, orange extract (or vanilla extract), honey, sugar, and corn syrup into the bowl of a food processor fitted with a blade or a heavy-duty blender.
  2. Blend to Smooth: Blend all the ingredients together until the mixture becomes creamy and smooth, resembling a thick smoothie. Taste the mixture and add more honey if you prefer a sweeter flavor.
  3. Freeze Mixture: Transfer the blended yogurt mixture into a freezer-safe container. Smooth the surface and press a piece of parchment paper directly on top to prevent ice crystals from forming. Place in the freezer for at least 6 hours or preferably overnight.
  4. Serve: When ready to eat, let the frozen yogurt sit at room temperature for a few minutes until it softens enough to scoop easily. Use long, shallow scoops for best serving results. Enjoy your homemade frozen yogurt!

Notes

  • You can swap frozen strawberries and bananas for any other frozen fruit you like, such as mango, blueberries, or peaches.
  • The sugar and corn syrup are optional but help create a smoother texture and enhance sweetness.
  • If you don't have orange extract, vanilla extract works perfectly as a substitute.
  • For a thicker yogurt, use full-fat Greek yogurt; for a lighter version, opt for low-fat Greek yogurt.
  • Be sure to use a freezer-safe container and parchment paper to avoid icy texture development.
