This Fudgy Chocolate Brownie Pie is a rich, decadent dessert that combines the intense flavor of dark chocolate with a moist, chewy brownie texture—all without the need for a pie crust. Perfectly toasted pecans add a delightful crunch, and optional toppings like chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream elevate this treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Brownie Pie

  • ¾ cup butter
  • 3 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 3 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ¾ cup flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup pecans, chopped and toasted, divided

Optional Toppings

  • Chocolate syrup
  • Vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350ºF (175ºC) and spray a 9-inch pie pan with cooking spray to ensure the brownie pie doesn't stick.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and chopped dark chocolate. Microwave on medium power for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until the chocolate has fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Beat eggs and sugar: Using an electric mixer, beat the eggs in a mixing bowl until frothy, approximately 3 minutes. Gradually add the sugar while continuing to beat until the mixture is well combined and turns pale yellow.
  4. Combine chocolate mixture and vanilla: Slowly add the melted chocolate and butter mixture along with the vanilla extract to the egg mixture. Beat until everything is well incorporated.
  5. Add dry ingredients and pecans: Gradually add the flour and salt to the wet ingredients, beating just until blended to avoid overmixing. Fold in half (½ cup) of the toasted pecans by hand.
  6. Pour batter and bake: Transfer the batter into the prepared pie pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 43 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  7. Cool and serve: Allow the brownie pie to cool completely before slicing. Top with optional vanilla ice cream, drizzle with chocolate syrup, and sprinkle the remaining toasted pecans before serving for an extra indulgent touch.

Notes

  • Make sure the eggs are at room temperature for better mixing and texture.
  • Do not overbake; the pie will be fudgy and slightly underdone in the center.
  • Toast pecans lightly in a dry skillet until fragrant to enhance their flavor.
  • For a nut-free version, omit the pecans entirely or substitute with sunflower seeds.
  • Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate up to 5 days.
