This Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte is a cozy, flavorful twist on the classic fall favorite, made with brewed coffee, pumpkin puree, warm almond milk, and aromatic spices. Sweetened naturally with maple syrup, it's a delicious dairy-free and lower-calorie alternative to traditional lattes, perfect for a comforting morning or afternoon treat.

Ingredients

Liquid Base

  • 8 ounces brewed coffee or 1-2 shots of espresso
  • ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Pumpkin Spice Mixture

  • 3 Tablespoons canned pumpkin or homemade pumpkin puree
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup or sweetener of choice

Garnish

  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Heat the Almond Milk and Pumpkin: In a small saucepan over medium heat or in a microwave-safe cup, whisk together the unsweetened vanilla almond milk and pumpkin puree. Warm the mixture until it is hot but not boiling, approximately 2-3 minutes on the stovetop or 30–45 seconds in the microwave.
  2. Add Flavorings: Remove the warmed milk mixture from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and maple syrup until fully combined and smooth.
  3. Froth the Mixture: Using a handheld frother or blender, froth the pumpkin-spiced milk mixture for about 30 seconds until it becomes foamy and light in texture.
  4. Prepare the Coffee: Pour freshly brewed coffee or 1-2 shots of espresso into a large mug.
  5. Assemble and Garnish: Slowly pour the foamy pumpkin milk mixture over the coffee. Top with a light sprinkle of cinnamon for added aroma and taste. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Notes

  • Use canned pumpkin puree or homemade pumpkin puree for best flavor.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste by varying the amount or type of sweetener.
  • Can be made with any plant-based milk for dairy-free or vegan option.
  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso shots instead of regular brewed coffee.
  • To make it spicier, add a pinch of ground nutmeg or clove along with the pumpkin pie spice.
