Homemade Korean Strawberry Milk is a refreshing and creamy drink made by blending fresh or frozen strawberries with sugar and milk. This recipe combines a sweet strawberry puree with milk—preferably coconut milk—for a delicious and visually appealing beverage that captures the essence of Korean cafe culture in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Strawberry Puree

  • 1 ¼ cups strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ¼ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • ¾ cup fresh strawberries, cut into 1 cm (1/3 inch) pieces

Milk

  • 2 cups milk of choice (recommended: coconut milk)

Instructions

  1. Puree the strawberries: Using a blender, food processor, or a masher, puree the 1¼ cups of strawberries until smooth. If using frozen strawberries, thaw slightly in the microwave or use a high-speed blender to achieve the best consistency.
  2. Cook the strawberry mixture: In a small pot, combine the strawberry puree, sugar, and one-third of the cut strawberry pieces. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it reaches a boil, then allow it to boil for 1 minute. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool at room temperature or chill it in the refrigerator. This cooking step is optional but helps thicken the puree and enhances preservation.
  3. Assemble the drink: Divide the cooled strawberry puree evenly into two 16-ounce glasses. Add half of the remaining cut strawberry pieces into each glass and swirl to create a pretty pattern on the glass walls. Pour half of the milk into each glass, stirring gently to combine. Serve immediately. Optionally, top with whipped cream for added indulgence.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen strawberries depending on availability; frozen strawberries can be thawed to blend easier.
  • The boiling step is optional but recommended if you want a thicker puree and longer-lasting drink.
  • Consume the drink on the day it is prepared for the best freshness, especially if skipping the boiling step.
  • Adjust the sugar quantity to your preferred sweetness level or substitute with a natural sweetener.
  • For a vegan or dairy-free version, coconut milk or other plant-based milks are preferred.
