Delightfully sweet and colorful, these Lucky Charms Marshmallow Treats combine the classic cereal with gooey melted marshmallows and butter for a fun, easy-to-make dessert bar perfect for parties or snack time.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 8 cups Lucky Charms cereal
  • 6 cups large marshmallows
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a 9 x 13-inch pan with parchment paper and set it aside to make removing the treats easier after chilling.
  2. Measure Cereal: Pour 8 cups of Lucky Charms cereal into a large mixing bowl, ready to combine with the marshmallow mixture.
  3. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add 6 cups of large marshmallows and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely melted into a smooth mixture.
  4. Combine Mixture: Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the Lucky Charms cereal in the bowl. Quickly stir to coat the cereal evenly before the marshmallow starts to harden.
  5. Press Into Pan: Transfer the coated cereal mixture into the prepared pan. Use a spatula or your hands (lightly buttered or sprayed) to press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan to form compact bars.
  6. Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for 1 hour to allow the bars to set properly.
  7. Cut and Serve: Remove the pan by lifting the parchment paper out. Cut into 24 squares and serve.

Notes

  • For easier cutting and less sticky hands, lightly butter your knife before slicing the bars.
  • You can substitute the vanilla extract with almond or coconut extract for a different flavor twist.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup effortless.
