A vibrant and spicy Mango Habanero Salsa that's perfect for adding a sweet and fiery kick to your meals. This fresh salsa combines juicy diced mangoes with the heat of habanero peppers, balanced by zesty lime and aromatic parsley for a flavorful condiment or dip.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 mangos, diced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ red onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 habanero pepper, pitted and finely minced

Instructions

  1. Wear gloves: Put on plastic gloves to handle the habanero safely and avoid skin irritation. Avoid touching your face or others while wearing them.
  2. Prepare the habanero: Cut off the top of the habanero, then use a small sugar spoon to scoop out the seed pod, white membranes, and seeds. You can also use your thumb to scrape out residual heat, still wearing gloves. Rub a little olive oil on the pepper flesh to remove leftover heat.
  3. Mix ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced mangoes, chopped parsley, chopped red onion, minced habanero, olive oil, and lime juice. Stir well to evenly blend the flavors.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate the salsa until ready to serve, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Store: Transfer the salsa to an airtight container and keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • Wear gloves while handling habanero peppers to prevent skin irritation and accidental contact with eyes or face.
  • Deseeding and deveining the habanero reduces the heat without removing all the flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of habanero based on your heat tolerance.
  • Serve with tortilla chips, tacos, grilled meats, or fish for extra zest.
  • Consume within 3 days for best freshness and flavor.
