This Smoky Blue Cheese Dip is a creamy, tangy, and flavorful appetizer perfect for entertaining. Made with cream cheese, Greek yogurt, blue cheese crumbles, smoky paprika, and hot sauce, it's balanced with a hint of lemon juice and crunchy honey roasted pecans. Serve it immediately with crackers, fresh vegetables, or fruit for an irresistible snack.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ tsp white pepper or black pepper
  • 1-2 tsp hot sauce (like Tabasco sauce)
  • ½ tsp smoky paprika
  • Juice from ½ lemon

Mix-Ins

  • 1 cup blue cheese crumbles
  • ½ tsp dried chives (or 1 tsp freshly sliced chives)
  • 3.5 oz. package honey roasted pecan pieces

Optional

  • Milk, 1 tbsp at a time, if needed to adjust consistency

Instructions

  1. Beat the base ingredients: In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, plain Greek yogurt, white or black pepper, hot sauce, smoky paprika, and lemon juice until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  2. Stir in mix-ins: Gently fold in the blue cheese crumbles, half of the chives, and three-quarters of the honey roasted pecan pieces, being careful not to overmix so the texture remains chunky.
  3. Adjust consistency: If the dip is too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time and stir until your desired consistency is reached.
  4. Assemble for serving: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl, then sprinkle the remaining chives and pecans over the top for a decorative and crunchy finish.
  5. Serve or store: Serve immediately with crackers, raw vegetables, apples, or pears. Alternatively, place the dip in an airtight container and refrigerate to use as needed.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for easier blending.
  • Adjust hot sauce quantity to suit your spice preference.
  • For a milder flavor, opt for less blue cheese or substitute with a milder cheese.
  • Store leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Milk is optional and can be added to thin the dip if necessary.
