A quick and delicious Turkey Cranberry Melt sandwich featuring tender turkey breast, melted cheddar cheese, and tangy cranberry sauce, all grilled to golden perfection between slices of buttery bread. Ideal for a cozy lunch or a warm side dish.

Ingredients

Sandwich Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread
  • 8 slices cooked turkey breast
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the skillet: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat to prepare for evenly toasting the sandwiches.
  2. Spread mayonnaise: Evenly spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread; this will help create a golden, crispy crust.
  3. Assemble bottom layer: Place 4 slices of bread, mayonnaise side down, on the hot skillet.
  4. Add fillings: Top each slice on the skillet with 2 slices of turkey breast, 2 slices of cheddar cheese, and 2 tablespoons of cranberry sauce for a perfect balance of flavors.
  5. Complete the sandwich: Add the remaining 4 slices of bread on top, mayonnaise side up, to seal the sandwiches.
  6. Cook the first side: Press the sandwiches gently with a spatula or another pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom bread slices turn golden brown.
  7. Flip and cook the other side: Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread on the second side is also golden brown.
  8. Serve hot: Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and serve immediately while warm and melty for the best taste experience.

Notes

  • You can use whole wheat or multigrain bread for a healthier twist.
  • Adjust the amount of cranberry sauce to your taste; extra cranberry gives a sweeter, tangier flavor.
  • For a crispier sandwich, use a little butter on the outside of the bread slices instead of mayonnaise.
  • Leftover turkey works perfectly, making this a great recipe for using up holiday turkey.
  • Serve with a side salad or chips for a complete meal.
