Creamy white chocolate truffles infused with bright orange zest and extract, coated in smooth white chocolate for an elegant citrus-sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups white chocolate chips (or chopped white chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp orange extract (or orange oil)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 8 oz white chocolate, melted (for coating)
  • Optional garnish: powdered sugar, orange zest, gold sprinkles, or white sanding sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat the heavy cream and butter in a small saucepan until just simmering.
  2. Pour the hot cream mixture over the 2 1/2 cups of white chocolate in a heat-safe bowl and let sit for 1 minute.
  3. Stir until smooth and glossy, then mix in the orange zest, orange extract, and salt.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1–2 hours, until firm enough to scoop.
  5. Scoop small portions of the chilled mixture and roll into balls with your hands.
  6. Dip each truffle into the melted white chocolate coating and place on a parchment-lined tray.
  7. Add optional garnish while the coating is still wet.
  8. Refrigerate the truffles for 20–30 minutes, or until fully set.

Notes

  • For stronger citrus flavor, add extra zest or a splash of Grand Marnier.
  • Roll truffles in powdered sugar or cocoa instead of coating if preferred.
  • Chill the truffle centers well to help them stay round during dipping.
  • Use a microplane for the best orange zest and avoid the bitter white pith.
